What Does "Moved to Chest" Mean on Avast?
If you are certain the file is not infected, you can restore it to your computer from the Virus Chest. However, Avast warns that both restoring and extracting – which allows you to create a copy of the quarantined file and save it on your computer – are potentially dangerous because of the infections. You should only restore or extract if you absolutely need the file, such as with system files. If you are unsure whether you need a file, you can keep it in the Chest indefinitely. This will not affect the performance of your computer. If you uninstall Avast, you will be asked if you wish to delete those files as well.
